Never Rarely Sometimes Always (2020)

After seeing high ratings I was intrigued by Never Rarely Sometimes Always. The central subject matter definitely deserves a spotlight. Abortion should not be a taboo. But I didn't like the execution. Just about every male in the film is an asshole or a pervert, which made the scenario unrealistic and misandrous. Also, the main character reacts stoic to every bit of drastic news that's conveyed to her, which made her character one-dimensional and emotionless, while it's important for a film dealing with this subject matter to show a credible person in distress, with doubts and fears, someone you can relate to. When it comes to a realistic and gripping portrait of a woman in search of an abortion treatment, I recommend viewing 4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days (2007). Here's my review of that film: https://letterboxd.com/metinseven/film/4-months-3-weeks-and-2-days/
