Journey To Greenland (2016)Le Voyage au Groenland is a disarming feel-good film about two French young men who decide to travel to an isolated village in Greenland, where the French father of one of the guys lives. I expected Le Voyage au Groenland to be a droll story, but I found the plot and the characters quite sympathetic. A lot of the situations and conversations with the indigenous inhabitants of Greenland felt very authentic, as if you're watching a documentary following two guys on an exploratory trip to the vast, snow-covered wastelands of Greenland. I'm sure at least part of the filmed scenes was real and spontaneous. I found the parts with the killed seals and bear difficult to watch, but at the same time my disgust felt hypocritical, because in Western 'civilization' animals are methodically slaughtered in huge amounts every day, but as we don't witness that, denial is a lot easier than when you'd have to kill the animal you eat.
