It Comes at Night (2017)It Comes at Night is one of those films that make it hard to decide what to think of it. Let's start with what I liked about the film: the atmospheric photography. The dimly lit scenes in the house, with the boy carrying a lantern that casts harsh dropshadows on the walls, reminded me of old black and white horror classics. I also liked the fact that It Comes at Night is no conventional zombie horror flick with all the clichés. There are no real jump scares and no hungry undead flesh-eaters chasing their victims. But what's left didn't really satisfy. There's a fair amount of suspense, but there's no climax, and you start craving for a climax or a surprising twist as the film approaches its end. One thing sure was surprising: the abrupt ending.
