a review of 守望者

This is one of those movies I wanted to see for years, but never got to it. So I finally watched it on New Year's Eve 2016, and I liked it. I found the plot a little chaotic, with a lot of anachronicity, but I loved the action sequences, a lot of the quotes, and the dark atmosphere, like a blend of Dark City, Sin City and Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy. Rorschach (nice wink to the famous test) was my favourite character. I also liked the numerous references to other films — particularly Kubrick's Dr. Strangelove — and the effective use of classic songs, from Jimi Hendrix to Nena. In conclusion, the creator of one of my favorite Batman graphic novels — The Killing Joke — didn't disappoint me. I didn't read the Watchmen comic, so this was my first introduction to the story.
