Hasta la Vista (original title) is a film that reminded me once again how much I love Flemish movies (next to Flemish beer, the Flemish language, Flemish cities, Flemish comics, Flemish bands and more). Hasta la Vista has been added to my Flemish favorites, alongside Crazy Love, Manneken Pis, The Broken Circle Breakdown, Loft and Ex Drummer. Hasta la Vista is a sympathetic, fun road movie based on a true story, successfully blending comedy with drama. If you like the also Belgian (though not Flemish) film Le Huitième Jour, there's a good chance you'll like this too, because it has the same disarming charm. The actors are very convincing, some situations made me laugh out loud (especially the scene where a group of Dutch tourists are hilariously ridiculed, as I'm Dutch myself), and other moments made me wipe away a tear.
