A Cat in Paris (2010)

I noticed that Une Vie de Chat got a lot of mediocre ratings over here at Letterboxd. That surprised me, as I found it a very charming film. I fell totally in love with the beautifully stylized artwork, reminding me of the atmospheric work of Jacques de Loustal and Lorenzo Mattotti.

OK, the plot is reasonably old-fashioned and somewhat predictable, but that didn't matter to me, as my eyes were constantly spoilt by all the beautiful imagery, including some delightfully creative visual storytelling, such as a perfume cloud depicted as a wavy, snake-like reflection of the woman who wears the perfume. Also, the scenes with the barking dog made me laugh out loud.
