a review of 女巫

The Witch is an atmospheric portrait of historic religious madness. I liked the disturbing soundtrack and the realistic 'olde' English that's spoken in the film. I expected more scary scenes, but I enjoyed the bleak, brooding atmosphere and the depiction of superstitious mania. I also liked that in the end you don't know for sure whether the events had actual supernatural causes or only human causes.
