a review of 魔童村

Given the fact that Village of the Damned appeared in 1960, the film has survived the test of time remarkably well. Inevitably, some of the scenes and effects have become dated, but the acting is very decent, the kids are quite creepy at times, and the scientific matter-of-factness that characterizes the film makes it more credible than the usual supernatural horror movies of the time. Along with Polanski's Rosemary's Baby, Village of the Damned clearly helped paving the way to The Omen.
