a review of 疯狂的麦克斯

Mad Max (1979)Somehow I still hadn't seen the original Mad Max films, despite knowing they're cult classics since they appeared when I was a kid. After having experienced the impressive adrenaline explosion of Mad Max: Fury Road, I just had to set the record straight. Having read many times that the second Mad Max is the best from the original trilogy, I viewed the first part with moderate expectations, and enjoyed it. It clearly established George Miller's distinctive post-apocalyptic Dieselpunk style, featuring crazy, comic-like characters and exhilarating high-speed racing shots. Mel Gibson is still a young god here, and his depiction of Mad Max clearly paved the way to his also memorable and intense role as the suicidal cop Martin Riggs in Lethal Weapon (1987). As Mad Max turned out to be an extensive prologue to part 2, I'm looking forward to viewing that tomorrow evening. I'll be back with another review right after that. Don't drive away!
