Hmm. What shall I say? This is not a disaster movie, but a movie disaster. I think the concept is great. In the hands of a competent director and an interesting cast this could have been a classic monster movie / disaster movie satire with a big wink to Jaws. To a certain extent, Sharknado is campy fun, but there seems to be a chronical lack of motivation in both the direction and the acting. The predominantly underwhelmed responses just don't match the crazy, over-the-top situations. No momentum is built up, and the acting is so bad and boring that the cast couldn't pull me into the movie, resulting in yawning, more yawning, and eventually I couldn't keep my eyes open anymore, although the bag of potato chips and chocolate snacks my jaws devoured during the first half of Sharknado will undoubtedly have contributed to that.
