Jarhead (2005)Jarhead pleasantly surprised me by not following the hackneyed conventions of war movies. In stead of depicting killing, it paints a picture of killing time with fellow soldiers, which can take up a large part of wartime. Jarhead is an intriguing blend between pro-war and anti-war movies. It doesn't seem to judge, but mainly observes. Another addition to Jake Gyllenhaal's admirable list of achievements.
