Interstellar (2014)Let me get this straight. The astronomical amount of $165,000,000 was wasted on a pretentious, boring, confusing, unconvincing, far-fetched, too lengthy sci-fi flick about saving humanity, while that budget could have saved thousands of actual lives in the real world? I thought the characters were flat and unrelatable, resulting in no compassion for them during the overly sentimental scenes. Lots of situations in the movie didn't make sense or were not credible. Just one of the many examples: Some guy who used to work for NASA and mentioned he never left the stratosphere arrives at a mysterious complex which turns out to be NASA. Next thing you know he's asked to leave his family forever and lead an intergalactic mission to save mankind, without extensive training. And so he does. Quite a multiple 'WTF' in my humble opinion. And the one thing you'd expect to be super-spectacular with such a budget — the wormhole journey — turned out to be less impressive than the one in Kubrick's classic 2001: A Space Odyssey, a movie from 1968.
