a review of 军中禁恋

Beau Travail was an intriguing experience. Instead of a conventional story development, the emphasis of the film lies in the atmosphere and activities of a foreign legion. It's a fascinating, poetic portrait of a group of young men going through harsh conditions while building a brotherly bond, filmed in a matter-of-factly, but at the same time intimate manner, featuring many close-ups, making you feel as if you're part of the group.
