a review of 荒山之夜

Never knew about this feverish Night on Bald Mountain animation from 1933. It must have been an inspiration for Disney's Night on Bald Mountain part of Fantasia (1940), which is one of my all-time favorite animations, created by the brilliant Vladimir "Bill" Tytla. The creepy, surreal atmosphere of this 1933 Night on Bald Mountain is something special, some of the scenes gave me instant goosebumps. It's as if the grandfather of David Lynch took some acid and directed this animation.
