A Talking Cat!?! (2013)

I watched a marathon of this one time on the Rifftrax channel where they played this movie on repeat. They also had a couple of the actors in chat who didn't really remember anything about making it. And for some reason I couldn't look away. I don't know how many times I watched it. At one point a friend came over to drop something off and I said "You gotta see this bad movie" and then *she* got sucked in and watched a big chunk of it. It's mostly shot in this mansion that is used in a lot of low budget/blue stuff that has decor like the inside of a Planet Hollywood. The exposition of this one character involves long shots of a fake website that conveniently starts halfway through an article – the spinning newspaper of the 2010s. Someone in the marathon chat found it, it was still up. The titular cat (not the one on the poster), voiced by Eric Roberts recorded from the inside of a drainage culvert, engineers an improbable meet cute and there are a bunch of rules about how the cat can only talk to each person one time? Who wrote these rules? Why is the cat talking? Will we ever have any answers? Well no, but the tiny clip of public domain music that jingles throughout the whole thing will soothe you. It's very short. If it's playing over and over again all day, you can probably watch it 20 times. It's really charming. I don't know what else to say. I ended up finding a recipe for cheese puffs and making them later that evening.
