#SKYKING (2026)Somehow missed when this happened and just learned about it from a post i saw yesterday, and found this doc. I think it was fairly well done for what it was, and I was especially interested in the stuff about how air traffic control/the FAA dealt with the situation. Like they don't know who this guy is, his motives, and when he says he learned how to fly from playing video games, they realize that he's never flown a plane before. There is all this stuff they have to find out while it's happening, and the in this and some other clips I watched online show everybody staying calm and professional over the radio. What a responsibility. I don't think this guy had a plan or a grand message he wanted to tell, and his actions put many in potential danger. I don't blame the widow for not participating in this; she probably wants to stay out of the public eye. I could see her story getting twisted and that's probably the last thing she needs. I imagine the family wanted to set some things straight but there is also going to be no way to know exactly what was going through this guy's head and they are stuck doing PR for a guy who had a mental break. I think it's good to see more discussion of class and how it could be possible that these workers weren't even making minimum wage, and the expectations of men to be stoic breadwinners, especially in conservative Christian culture. I did find some of the upscaling of the home movies etc to be a little uncanny and could perhaps been presented differently.
