Interesting premise. Watching it in 2025, the alien transformation of the city each night has an uncanny similarity to generative ai. the city made from people's stolen memories, etc etc. it's late. you get it. or maybe the Auditors from Discworld who are trying to figure out what makes people the way they are by grinding paintings into dust and measuring the components. The way the film deals with memory is quite effective. When everybody's memory is compromised, then reality can be bent at will. i like the late 90s super saturated colour grading and the practical sets
