i watched this because of matt baume's video. i really appreciate what they were trying to do here. the structure of the film and the realizations of everyone who had refused to help barrett make it hit pretty hard. some of the dialogue is maybe a little didactic but it's also important. and pretty well done as a thriller. aside: the little details like barrett's friends uncomfortably fidgeting, or the bookseller angrily shoving the tea cozy onto the teapot, are really nice
