I swore I had seen this years ago but I don't remember it so I won't tag it as such, and I had also seen the regrettable 2004 feminist backlash remake, so I wasn't prepared to actually feel so unnerved this time around. I think watching this in 2024 it is genuinely a horror movie and feels very prescient. It also is well situated in the second wave feminist era. And something about every woman losing all her hobbies and interests as a sign that she's been Stepforded. The husbands keep saying their hobbies were wastes of time.
