I am not really into Marvel or anything but I had to find this after seeing the documentary on it, Doomed! The Untold Story of Roger Corman's "The Fantastic Four" (2015). The real takeaway of the doc is while maybe this movie was "never intended to be released", the people making the movie didn't know that! Many of them thought this was going to be their big break. Watch it through the lens of people doing their best with what they have. I dunno, it's a perfectly fine '90s superhero movie. The post-production is definitely lacking as they say in the doc. The effects are pretty bad, Doctor Doom needs some ADR, but I feel like I have seen so many "successful" movies that were just like this. It has its charming moments. The cast and crew deserved better than to have their movie confiscated and never get to see it until they found bootlegs at comic cons.
