Memento - Review

I understand that the chief feature of this film is the editing of a forward and a backward sequence of scenes which reproduces the fractured nature of the main character's memory, but it didn't work for me dramatically. By the end, what I had was a bunch of characters whose motivations I still needed to work out, and didn't want to put in the work. And why would the McGuffin character of Lenny's wife not even get a name, while the fate of the Natalie character never gets called out? That to me cuts my involvement with these characters severely. Christopher Nolan is known for his puzzle box films, but this one is a lot less palatable than the later ones he's put out.
