a review of 罗拉秘史
Laura - Review
I watched this when I was laid up in the hospital, and tuned in partway through, when Detective McPherson had caught up with Waldo and we were watching the flashback of the man's first meeting with Laura. It took skillful acting to pull the audience over some of the plot quirks and these stars were up to it. I thought the sudden love subplot between Laura and Shelby was pretty sketchy but also clearly a red herring. The famous theme song does some heavy lifting too, making the title character more mysteriously alluring than humanly possible even given Gene Tierney's charms. In the end, the mystery is unraveled quickly and the couple the audience is intended to be rooting for goes off on cue. It's a solid thriller with noir aspects that is pretty fun to watch.
