The Last Man on Earth - Review
I watched the uncolorized version. This film was able to pull off a very long voiceover by the main character and an even longer flashback without causing universal audience mutiny. It is pretty grim from the opening frame to the final scene with that pre-pandemic flashback coming off as painfully poignant, with hardly any comic relief on the way, so be warned. Some bits of it didn't age perfectly well, but it mostly holds up in my opinion. In the end a viewer who lived through the Covid19 pandemic or has concerns about authoritarian regimes sudden rise in popularity has plenty to think about.
