严格来说，《战地》系列的第一步作品应该是《战地1942》，并没有《战地1》。所以这部被称为《战地1》也是合情合理的。

本作背景设置在一战时期，仍然由DICE工作室开发，采用寒霜3引擎，将于2016年10月21日正式在PC/PS4/Xbox One平台发布。

从今天公布的预告片来看，《战地1》多人中包含了骑兵、履带车、齐柏林飞艇、双人Jet、大规模杀伤性武器等元素。从场面来看，新作的场面要比此前的作品更加火爆。

新作依然是最大64人联机，但是EA表示你可以在这里感受到有史以来，最宏壮的战场。

而单人部分则将从几个不同士兵的角度来叙述这场充满血腥的战争，通过代入感强烈的冒险战役，从不同士兵的角度向玩家展示史上第一次全面战争。
