2004年頃からサウンドコンポーザー「better」として活躍。
作曲と同時に、ヒューマンビートボックスに興味を持ち、ビートボクサーbetterとしての活動を開始。
2005年、創作集団grid-m7名義で参加したデザインフェスタにて、BEATSICK.JPのHIRONAやTEDDY(TeddyLoid)らと共にいち早くビートボックスパフォーマンスを披露し衝撃を与える。

2007年、grid-m7のクラブイベント「パーフェクト居酒屋G」にて、「Atols」名義で初パフォーマンス。
同年、SOLSPUREN RECORDSより、Atols名義でメジャーアルバム「Lesson1」を発売。
Atolsとしての本格的な活動を開始する。
2008年には、サウンド&レコーディング・マガジン誌上で行われたコーネリアス「sensuous flagments」リミックス・コンテストで優秀賞を受賞。
2009年、メジャー2枚目となる「culture」を発表。ビートボックスとエレクトロニカを融合させた革新的な音を打ち出す。
2010年からニコニコ動画にて楽曲を配信。このころより表記をAtolsからATOLSに変更する。
また、この年のクラブイベント「電刃2010」にてパフォーマンスを披露。
そして、この年の年末に行われたJapan Beatbox Championship 2010にてベスト16入り。
2011年以降は、初音ミクのボカロPとして楽曲を作成しつつ、PSP「セブンスドラゴン2020」に楽曲を提供したりするなど、多岐にわたり精力的に活動を続けている。
