Spotted @IceCubesApp logo 😁

Unless Apple goes into heavy detail on what fed these models and how they obtained active consent and compensated for that data, it is reasonable to assume that these are just LLM and SD rebrands that stole from millions of artists and photographers and writers, and that all of these features are just deeply unethical. #WWDC
I know I have aging eyes but the more I look at Liquid Glass app icons the fuzzier they get. The subtle glass bezels, reflected edge highlights and soft chromatic shadows result in an icon that is super soft and fuzzy at size.
I suppose I’ll get used to them but they are negating these high res retina displays big time. It’s like I’m looking at the icons through cheese cloth or something. #WWDC

The real takeaway here is that tech reviewers, YouTubers, bloggers, and journalists have all been pulling punches with Apple for a loooong time to hang on to access. Anyone who walks out of WWDC with an interview or hands-on should really be assumed to be compromised and untrustworthy. It's been true for a long time, but now that Apple's just another mediocre profit-at-all-costs cutthroat tech giant, it must not go unspoken. https://www.macrumors.com/2025/05/29/no-apple-executives-talk-show-live/
Bill Atkinson's passing the week before WWDC is an unfortunate coincidence, but maybe it'll help reframe the company's enduring legacy on modern computing at a time when the company's leadership has, without question, lost the fucking plot.
Two years ago, I live-posted the WWDC keynote on Mastodon. I was excited to see what the Vision Pro would be.
Last year I sat it out. I had a scheduling conflict and the focus was going to be on AI, about which I couldn’t imagine anything that exciting being shown.
This year? 🤷♂️
