@brucelawson has a suggestion for you. IMHO there are many Linux distributions to choose between and you will need to choose the one that works best for you.
I recently switched to Linux as my primary platform myself.
My plea, however, to the Linux community is to make it easy for people to switch to Linux, but also to make it easy to switch window managers, key chains and the like.
I switched to Ubuntu myself and I am finding certain things with Gnome were a pain. Thus I tried switching to KDE, but found that broke a lot of things. IMHO we should strive to make it easy for users to switch between window managers and desktops as well as applications, without breaking things. That requires the different players to work together to ensure that switching from one desktop to another, for example, does not need to mean loosing passwords.
Locking in is one of the things Big Tech is known for. Linux should not have that, IMHO.

Despite the recent media reporting, #Windows installation with local accounts is working just fine. Create a regular Windows installation media and drop autounattend.xml to the root of the USB device and install it.
You can craft the autounattend.xml yourself or use a service like https://schneegans.de/windows/unattend-generator/ to generate it.
If the installation demands you to connect to the internet, you can bypass this part by pressing Shift+F10 and then entering oobe\bypassnro + <return>. After the installer restart, you'll have the "I don't have internet" option, and the installation will proceed. If the bypassnro is missing you can:
reg add HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\OOBE /v BypassNRO /t REG_DWORD /d 1 /f
shutdown /r /t 0

We continue to believe that you are the one best to know how you want your browser, so we keep adding flexibility and features. Different ways to do the same thing as we all have different requirements. We keep #AI out of the picture as well. You can use any online AI service you want, but we do not include it in the browser.

Okay. We're gonna poke the bear.
We're currently on Windows 10 on all our machines. All our family members use it too. We're not going to upgrade to Windows 11.
We're sure there will be a Windows 12 at some point, with built-in stuff that we don't want and can't easily remove until someone hacks it out.
So, if we were to attempt to make a move to a Linux distro where:
we'd get a Windows-like experience (minus the shitty bits)
we didn't have to ever use a command line console except for very advanced tasks
all our PC games would run
we could find Linux compatible versions (or compatibility layers) for decades of WIndows-only software
... where the heck would we even start?

2. Add the files from C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Group Policy\Windows 11 Sep 2024 Update (24H2)\PolicyDefinitions to C:\Windows\SYSVOL\domain\Policies\PolicyDefinitions on the domain controller.
3. Start Group Policy Management on the domain controller.
4. Create a group policy object with these values:
User Configuration > Policies > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows AI > Turn off Saving Snapshots for Windows = enabled
User Configuration > Policies > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Copilot > Turn off Windows Copilot = enabled
5. Link the group policy object in at an appropriate level in your domain.
