A campaign against #NPR's new CEO, ex-#Wikimedia Foundation Katherine Maher, is trying to portray her as "anti-truth" and "anti-First Amendment" by taking quotes out of context from her past talks about Wikimedia. As a longtime Wikipedian, I think I can give a little more context about these statements — but I recognize that the people behind this campaign are, ironically, not looking for the facts.

A blog post about #Wikimedia's Content Translation tool, which since its 2015 launch has been used to create over 2 million articles, helping bridge the gap for underrepresented languages. Several improvements have been made in recent years, including integrating Wikimedia's own machine translation service, MinT, which combines external models to support missing or low-resourced languages. Indian languages alone saw nearly 60,000 articles created.
