The GOP has spent a century labeling all public works programs that don’t directly benefit the wealthiest among us as “socialism.”
Combining that with their efforts to increase and embrace anti-intellectualism has been *very* effective.
It will take us just as long to reverse the trend. But to quote RATM—
“It has to start somewhere. It has to start sometime.
What better place than here? What better time than now?”
