What O'Brien's arguing, and I think he's convincing, is that there is no pretext at all for the US bombing a civilian water facility, and the act was premeditated. There is no logic, however Byzantine and/or flawed, through which one could make the case that this was a military necessity. It is, instead, an unequivocal war crime. As O'Brien puts it:
The US has attacked, seemingly deliberately, a facility vital to the maintenance of human life that has no discernible military utility. So yes, it is a war crime.
If we accept this argument then the necessary conclusion is that the rest of the world is responsible for preventing the United States from committing such acts. An absolutely horrifying place to be, shocking though not unexpected.
Responses like "what did you expect from Drumpf and Kegbreath" will result in immediate blocks.
