Today, February 24, in 1989, FBI agent Dale Cooper enters the town of Twin Peaks for the first time (Twin Peaks, "Northwest Passage" s01e01, 1990)
That totally surprised me. One of the characters in #Wednesday S02 is a #Filipino. It's not obvious if you don't understand our language.
For Filipinos, you'll see it.
For non-Filipinos, look for a text message scene in S02E06, that's the character.

Today marks 30 years since the premiere of 'Xena: Warrior Princess' back in 1995. A show that was never ashamed of its campiness, but at the same time managed to be groundbreaking on multiple levels. Setting new standards for female action heroines, featuring a main character that was messy and flawed, physically strong and athletic, who started as a villain seeking redemption.
Xena, despite its cheesiness and often ridiculous premise, succeeded in pushing the boundaries of queer representation, challenged stereotypes, defied several of the sexist tropes of '90s media, explored LGBTQIA+ themes, even themes of gender identity, and made a clear statement against the stigma surrounding HIV/AIDS at the time.
It may not be a flawless masterpiece, but it's a beloved cult classic for good reason.

ok, so my sons bought a heavily discounted "smart" #tv last xmas. a TCL with Roku plastered all over the box.
is there a way to root these tvs and wipe their OS?
https://www.wired.com/story/roku-terms-of-service-update-locks-tv/
rooting and changing the OS of smart anything, especially phones, need to be at the center of the right to repair movement, not just getting access to software drivers or hardware.
PS: i have avoided activating the Roku nonsense exactly for what the article describes.

File this under "things we never knew we wanted until we discovered we couldn't have them." David Lynch pitched an animated project called "Snootworld" to Netflix, but was rejected. He started working on the script 20 years ago with Caroline Thompson, writer of "The Nightmare Before Christmas," "Edward Scissorhands" and 1991's "The Addams Family." Here's what the pair told Deadline.
