New set of dice in preparation for some #ttrpg later 🙂
ttrpg
I've been meaning to make an updated version of this for a while so here it is, every numerically-balanced d20 layout!
Feel free to share, especially with any dice makers you think may be interested!
There is a more detailed explanation video by @henryseg for The Dice Lab (which use layout C, if you're curious!) https://youtu.be/Nh2H_4g6evc
Tentando voltar a desenhar com mais frequência! Um sketch pra tirar a ferrugem.
e agora sair do PC, pq as dores estão chegando

Dice by PCalc 2.8 is out now (finally)!
This release of my #ttrpg dice rolling app adds support for iOS 18 and macOS 15, including Control Center buttons for quick rolling, and dark and tinted icons.
As well as four new themes, there’s also a new picker which makes it easier to see all the visual options for dice in one place.
RPG tip from the archive: Build wilderness encounters from the environment, a fantastic feature, interesting monsters or NPCs, and weather.
RPG tip from the archive: Instead of a random encounter, plan out a fun one-battle side adventure to throw into your game at the right moment.
RPG tip from the archive: Warn characters when it looks like they're about to bite off more than they can chew. The players may not be getting the more subtle warning signs.
Campaign generation by randomized GURPS sourcebook
This table was inspired by a quote from Robin D. Laws’ saying
When in doubt, blindfold yourself, take any two GURPS sourcebooks off the shelf at random, and combine the results.
Ok, this is a bit pointless but also… not. I mean, who has a d140 anyway? Or in fact even so many GURPS books? But I wanted to list all the GURPS books, excluding some of the sub-books for different lines, no matter how good they are (so e.g. no Discworld Also, and none of the Traveller supplements EXCEPT Interstellar Wars, which is a distinct enough setting in my book).
I bet I missed some.
So what is it? Just a list of all GURPS sourcebooks except the most mechanical.
I’ve been thinking of adding some quality fan-made books as well, which are floating around the net. I bet one could get some good stuff out of those as well.
I never really cared for GURPS as a rule system, but I always love using their sourcebooks as a starting point to work out ideas for my own games. And most of the stuff is indeed so generic that I can easily rework things into DnD, Traveller, Shadowrun, or what have you. So take a d140 (sigh, or go to a website that does it for you) and roll up your next campaign.

"Medieval Fantasy Tables" is a tool for solo (or coop) tabletop roleplaying games, though it can also serve as a general GM tool. 2 pages full of tables to generate different elements for medieval fantasy adventures, such as creatures, places, spells, etc.
Introduction Appendix 4: Because apparently I cannot have enough projects to work on, here's another. This one is a tabletop roleplaying game called SpaceCraft. It's a "universal" or setting agnostic rpg system with a bias towards science fiction. For example, you can run a fantasy game fine with it, you just have to ignore the rules about space travel, and robots, and computers, and nanotech, etc.
"So why not put those things into a separate book, like GURPS?" Mostly because I don't want to. I know that'll hurt the marketability, but I don't have high hopes for this game making any money anyway. I'll probably have to end up releasing it for free, which honestly would be my preference anyway, if I wasn't so damn poor, so I at least gotta give it a shot. Unless things change for me dramatically before I finish it. Who knows? I'll probably try an alternate way of setting it up just to see how it looks and decide for sure then.
So why make this system at all? Basically it's a story much like the one behind my novel (see Intro Appendix 3): I've done plenty of house-rules over the years, but never my own system. So one day, as a mere intellectual exercise to pass some time, I started thinking about what a game would look like if I designed it from scratch. And just like with my novel, it was like breaking a dam of ideas that just wouldn't quit. I've since fallen in love with what I have and deeply desire to at least see it finished, even if no one else ends up liking it.
So what's so good about it? Well, as the years go by and my experience with both playing and running games grew, I started increasingly making house rules for the games I played. It was a sort of exponential progression, only little bits here and there at first, filling in gaps that the rules didn't cover, but later progressed to improving some of the more egregious problems in the games. I started to notice that I was good at it, and even more that I liked it. It was like my brain is somehow optimized for turning abstract aspects of life into playable game mechanics.
But this isn't supposed to be about me. My point is that game mechanics have progressed over the years, and while there is a great deal of subjectivity in the community concerning them, there are some things that are just objectively better (or worse) than others. As I started getting more comfortable with modifying the games I played, I also became less tolerant of what I considered "bad rules". So basically this game is my attempt to make the best game possible, from a game mechanics point of view. Yes, that does make the game somewhat "rules heavy", but I've kept that complaint in mind from the beginning, and have taken several steps to help alleviate any such problems.
