Cypher System (low crunch, genre-agnostic, cinematic, easy to GM) is getting a v2. Version 1 is 12 years old.
Things to note about v2:
- Mostly backwards compatible with v1.
- Addresses the biggest complaints about the system. For example, in v2 you take "wounds" instead of direct stat pool reduction.
- The Cypher team does not use AI at all.
- Crowdfunding campaign includes a wealth of setting and campaign books for cheap.

Nunca acompanhei pq os episódios são gigantes, mas tenho curiosidade de ver essa campanha nova pq vai ser estilo West Marches (vários grupos diferentes no mesmo jogo).
Achei interessante que no site tenha esse resumo pq, primeiro, não sei se vou tankar, e depois pq impossível parar tudo por 4 horas semanais pra dar 100% da minha atenção. Talvez acompanhe algumas coisas por vídeo, e um pouco por esses resumos do site.

J.R.R. Tolkien has become a sort of mountain, appearing in all subsequent fantasy in the way that Mt. Fuji appears so often in Japanese prints. Sometimes it’s big and up close. Sometimes it’s a shape on the horizon. Essa semana fui ver o qq tava rolando em um podcast que escutei faz anos, e que foi o que me fez voltar a jogar RPG na época.
É um dos grupos de RPG mais engraçados e cativantes que eu já acompanhei. Nessa temporada especificamente, estão jogando em um cenário criado pelo Narrador Matt Klassen, que faz uma mistura de fantasia, cultos estranhos, trens, e raves com gorilas.
Mas, na minha opinião, quem rouba a cena é Fox com suas ideias malucas. Elu pensa muito fora da caixinha, fazendo a narrativa parecer um teatro de improviso, e suas bolas curvas logo são acatadas por seus colegas de jogo Stacey e Markus, fazendo o narrador Matt passar trabalho. Pra começo de conversa, o personagem de Fox é um Urutau gigante. Sim, você leu certo.
Fica a dica pra quem gosta de acompanhar esse estilo de narrativa, e de dar umas boas gargalhadas. E aproveito pra dizer que a primeira campanha que eles jogaram também é fantástica (em todos os sentidos da palavra).

RPG é caro porque rpgista gosta de papel
Estou num grupo de um coletivo de rpg da minha cidade e sempre bato na tecla que os livros de rpg são muito caro e poderiam ser mais baratos.
Nenhum livro básico de sistema sai por menos de 150 reais hoje em dia.
Dá para baratear? Dá.
Tem gente que argumenta que precisa pagar o autor, o diagramador, as ilustrações etc. E sim, tem que pagar todo mundo.
Mas experimenta parar de usar capa dura. Usar outro papel que não couché. Invés de ter 256 cores que nem a porra de um teclado gamer, ser preto e branco (ou pelo menos ter uma cor de destaque só).
A galera gosta de pagar para ter um item de luxo. E pasmem: itens de luxo são caros.
Só que livros de rpg não precisam ser itens de luxo. Acontece que até autores independentes caem nessa cilada e se frustram das dificuldades de lançar um jogo.
Sendo que eles mesmos se enredaram em publicar um impresso difícil de ser executado e caro.
Tem que começar o design do produto desde o começo visando materiais mais baratos. Veja: mais baratos, não materiais ruins. Com esmero dá pra fazer livros de ótima qualidade sem ser de luxo.
