I'm disabling Bridgy Fed on this account (at least for now) -- if you're at risk of harassment, consider doing the same
Harassment has increased significantly on Bluesky over the last week (which tends to be what happens when a site's moderators find an excuse not to take actionn against a coordinated anti-trans harassment campaign, but that's another story). Bluesky blocklists provide some protection, but unfortunately there's no way for fedi accounts to subscribe to Bluesky blocklists or labelers. So there's basially no protection for bridged accounts.
I haven't yet hard any reports of harassment getting directed at bridged accounts ... but then again if somebody on Bluesky who hasn't opted in to Bridgy fed is spewing hate speech in bridged posts replies, we wouldn't necessarily know about it. So, better safe than sorry.
If you're currently bridging to Bluesky consider doing the same! You can disable Bridgy Fed by blocking @bsky.brid.gy@bsky.brid.gy -- here's the FAQ https://fed.brid.gy/docs#opt-out

Bridgy Fed's development is very resource constrained right now; as far as I know it's still just @snarfed.org working on it part-time, and they've had their hands full just keeping up with the increased load. So, not sure how quickly they''ll be able to respond.

I’m an #asexual #trans #lesbian, which is a particularly cursed combo for reasons I won’t explore here. But suffice it to say I therefor have reason to explore the nuances of what kinds of touch I enjoy, and in doing so I’ve observed that, for me, I experience episodic desire for #SensualTouch that is disconnected from my episodic experience of being horny. I’ve taken to describing this as feeling #SkinThirst.
Some disambiguation: I distinguish being skin thirsty from being chronically touch starved in the same way that wanting to get some sunshine in my hair is different from a chronic vitamin D deficiency - one is an experience I have episodically that might last hours to days, and the other is a long-term lack of something important. Both can be true at the same time, but I mean different things by them.
By way of illuminating the difference from being horny, I’ve observed that when I’m horny, masturbating and having an orgasm can satiate that need. By contrast, feeling skin thirsty cannot be slaked without someone else touching me. It may fade in time on its own, but masturbating does absolutely nothing for it, because my needs for sensual touch are not addressed by sexual activity, except coincidentally. Additionally, I get horny and skin thirsty on TOTALLY different frequencies. I’m horny maybe once a month. I get skin thirsty at least weekly, and often more frequently than that.
And when I say I get skin thirsty, it means I CRAVE focused, intentional touch. Preferably in large quantity. I’ve described this as “making out in such a way as to get a hard R rating.” However, for me, a romantic component isn’t actually required, it is possible to get what I need platonically.
Here are some of my previous threads about this - there’s some fabulous discussion in there, and I was surprised to find how many people experience skin thirst as disconnected entirely from their experience of feeling horny OR that there was a connection, but not one that was entirely one-to-one.

I'm a Sr. (Software) Engineering Manager with almost 20 years of experience in software development. I also have a few years in there as a Senior Product Manager, but my passion definitely lies on the engineering side of things.
I've been involved in Olympic #fencing for almost 30 years in some capacity, and for the last several I have been an armorer at collegiate, (US) national, and international events.
I am here on Mastodon after deciding to leave anything Meta behind, and realizing that BlueSky isn't the safe haven that it purports to be. I hope all of the Threads and Twitter users that ended up there don't get burned, but I'm not taking my chances with that.

If you've not heard of Lou Sullivan, look him up. He was a gay, HIV positive, trans man and he did a huge amount for our community in the US and beyond. Lou lobbied for gay, trans men to be given access to medical transition. He was visible so that other gay, trans men could see that they weren’t alone.

I have obtained TSA pre-check with my correct gender marker on my passport!
The Clear employee who helped me was very nice, I got some queer / trans / non-binary vibes from them.
I got my passport before the anti-trans U.S. executive order. I knew the guidance from TSA is that my passport is valid until it expires, but I wasn't sure whether they would allow me to get TSA pre-check with it.

Today I blocked a newly-created bot account on Instagram who commented on a reel: “You’re brave to post this so soon after you transitioned.”
What this tells me is that transgender people are absolutely being singled out and targeted. I already know this has been happening, but I mention it here bc bots are designed to goad people into engaging.
Engagement = visibility
Visibility = tracking
Tracking = erasure/extermination
