Hola chikis!
Si te interesa participar o ayudar comenta y hablamos!

The gender police are escalating their intimidation campaign against the trans community and against any cisgender girl who they think doesn't look feminine enough.
In Utah, it's so bad the real police are protecting a cis girl athlete falsely accused online of being trans. Note that this is a completely different cisgender Utah athlete than the one we reported on facing a similar (though less extreme) situation a couple weeks ago. #trans #news
Where does it end?

This goes out to the other #trans people in the Fediverse, let's destroy the myth that "you're too old" to start transitioning later in life. I started hormones when I was 35 and my changes have been amazing..
..how old were YOU when you started your transition or HRT?
Please boost for visibility :)

"Sports bans will hurt cisgender women" is just one of the many, many predictions the trans community made at the beginning of this moral panic.
Today on Assigned, I declared national We Told You So Day. From violence to attacks on cis women and gays and lesbians, the predictions have been chillingly accurate. #trans #LGBTQ #news

So what has Samantha been doing in the west coast?
I spent the past several days with the Amazonian princess, Terra. She is doing great after surgery, and it was a pleasure being able to spent time with her and help out with her recovery.
As an added bonus I got to meetup in person for the first time with @NineIsntPrime and @bumpus.
Lots of laughs and good times.
As I sit at my hotel tonight before I fly back tomorrow, I am simply in awe at our community and the friendships that have formed.
Hey everyone. I skipped Trans Voice Friday entirely last week, but this is a very, very special week for me, so I had to make sure to celebrate it with another voice recording. It’s not just that I started HRT; yesterday I also had my last voice training session. My voice coach said I was ready and that I just need to continue doing my exercises for a few months to make sure this voice becomes my default.
She said that I was a rare case for her, because several elements of my voice were already quite feminine and others just needed a bit of work; I am the first one she wrapped with in just 5 sessions. :o I feel privileged but also a bit in disbelief; can’t this really be it? If so, I am a lucky gal.
As part of the training, I recorded a weekly audio with the same text, and yesterday she played back the first and last ones… and I was shocked. Even though I was aware my voice had changed, I had no idea how much. I had a bit of a sore throat when I recorded the first one, so that might have had an influence, but still. I feel on top of the world right now. Things are finally clicking…
In my new article for @assignedmedia.org, I share photos and an interview with #trans advocate Joaquin Guerrero about housing trans people experiencing #homelessness in #SanFrancisco.

I am SICK and TIRED of unfairness in women's sports. That's right, I'm talking about the bullying of Riley Gaines, who's been picking on a Division III trans woman swimmer who Gaines far outpaced when she was still in HIGH SCHOOL.
That's right, I got so fed up with Gaines I went and dug up her old high school times. Turns out the first time she beat the "record" set by Meghan Cortes-Fields she's been calling the end of Title IX she was 14 yrs old. #trans #sports #news
Judd Legum on his substack has some VERY eyebrow raising quotes from an Owasso Police officer.
Really needs to be read but this particularly stood out to me: "Boatman told Popular Information that the Owasso Police 'reached out to the medical examiner's office to try to head off some of this national scrutiny.'"

I'm feeling cheated over here, I’ve been a week on HRT and my boobs are nowhere to be seen... 😁
In all seriousness, I am curious: what was the first effect you girls felt from HRT, physical or mental, and how long did it take for you to feel it? And what was something that happened early on that surprised you, some effect that you weren't expecting or prepared for?
I joined mastodon today because the CEO of #tumblr had a complete meltdown recently when people called him out for deleting a trans woman's blog because she posted a transition timeline. The vibes were definitely off, just doesn't feel like a safe place right now. I'd love to follow more #trans and #queer folks on here! This is my second social media account (third if you count myspace. omg should I go back to myspace??) so I need all the help I can get with navigating this place.
Dear #trans people, #LGBT #Queer #LGBTQIA and allies from the Fediverse, if you have a #Wikipedia account (note: with at least 50 edits in French articles before January 29, sorry), you may help the French Wikipedia to become a better place to read quality articles involving trans people.
Under the pressure of trans and allied contributors (Edit: and NOT at the initiative of T&A contributors), the French Wikipedia moderators opened a survey on "how to handle #deadname mentions in our articles".
The survey proposes 6 questions and multiple possibilities, including harmful and insensitive ones.
At the moment, the answer ratio is not in favour of trans people. Most of the time, people insist on mentioning the deadnames like it's a data like any other, including when unnecessary.
This must change, and here's why I'm making a call to you.
(Edited) The rules to vote are restricted to editors of French contents who were already active before February, so it's actually not possible to vote on behalf of French trans people with no account, BUT you still may vote: they won't be taken into account but they will remain visible on the page.
Action and reskeets may save young trans people from shitty behaviours from careless cis people.
Thank you by advance 🙏🏼
And sorry for the multiple editions
FINAL EDIT I'm probably going to be suspended soon for my outrageous behaviour consisting of : having posted this very toot, and being pissed by the passive-agressive tone and the general stubbornness of a bunch of wiseguys who consider that it's not okay to call for collaboration to the rules of a collaborative online encyclopedia, because, woo, BIAS. So long and thanks for all the fish.
Next episode : My indefinite suspension (in French starting from there)

This is a serious danger warning, to me.

Artist: Laura Jane Grace (she/her)
Album: Hole In My Head

Why? Because Laura Jane Grace's music has been a companion to so many of us over the last decade, and she just released a new album!
Where to start?

My wife and I went to a candlelight vigil last night that was held in Houston for the #enby #Oklahoma 16yr old, #NexBenedict .
I had mixed emotions about going. Wasn't sure if I should or shouldn't go. I mean... Would it make a difference? "It" being the vigil itself but also my presence there as well I guess. What could a candlelight vigil from a blue dot in a deeply red state possibly do to affect change for #trans citizens in deeply red Oklahoma?
But on the other hand, there needs to be awareness and it starts with people being present, showing up and making their voices heard. Change is desperately needed to end the stream of political and physical attacks on trans people by individuals, society and governments.
And so my wife and I went.
But I came away from it feeling somewhat....
icky.
I don't like that it was more of a political rally and not a method for honoring and lifting up the the short-lived life of Nex. I think the message of trans rights could have been woven in more subtly while putting to the forefront the fact that a child lost their life entirely and solely because they were trans.
I don't know. Maybe that's the way candlelight vigils for trans deaths are.
Hi everyone!! Here’s an extra-special song collaboration between @WrenArcher and myself for #FAWM!
Wren sent me the guitar part and a couple lines of a song idea, and I built those out to a full song. Even across the country, we got to sing together, working so well with the message of the song. We are not alone!
Welcome to #TransTuesday!
This week we’re discussing something every trans person has to deal with, all these little things that add up in ways cis people likely don’t even realize.
It’s death by a thousand cuts with TRANS MICROAGGRESSIONS.
Let's talk about what they are and why they're awful, including examples of the most common ones!

I want to share something I'm really proud of.
In late July, I came across a 2016 article from the Novo Nordisk Foundation. It discussed intersex women, including those with XY chromosomes, but the language was outdated, reductionist, and stigmatizing. It called them "genetically men," leaned on biological determinism, and framed their lives through a medical lens that undermined their dignity.
I couldn't let that stand, so I wrote to them. I explained why the language was harmful, pointed to current science and bioethics, and asked them to take responsibility.
To their credit, they listened. They replied quickly, acknowledged my concerns, and began reviewing the article. A couple of weeks later they sent me a revised draft. They had already removed the misgendering, replaced pathologizing phrases, and shifted the framing away from chromosomes as destiny. I suggested a few more adjustments to make the language even more accurate and affirming.
At the end of August, they published the updated article in English and Danish. The harmful wording is largely gone. The framing now centers human diversity, patient-centered care, and informed consent.
It may not sound dramatic, but these changes matter. Words shape how people see themselves, how they are treated by doctors, and how society understands trans and intersex lives. Correcting language in a piece like this helps chip away at stigma that has caused harm for decades.
Here's what this looked like in practice for me: I was assertive. I named where I disagreed. I brought factual evidence. I kept the exchange in good faith. I stayed open to change and supported it when it happened.
It is one article, one institution, one moment. Little by little, contribution by contribution, we are changing things. I'm proud that I stood up and made a difference here, and I'll keep doing what I can to push for a world where our communities are seen, respected, and affirmed. 💜

After the recent attack at Barton Springs, I analyzed publicly available city hate incident data with the help of #Austin Free Press. We found that #LGBTQIA+ folks face more reported hate incidents than any other marginalized group.

Today on Assigned we've got something/someone new, an essay from the front lines of the Florida public school system by substitute teacher Sarah Khan, who is closeted trans woman.
She describes a changing world where once innocent things like having nicknames or doing make-up for a school musical run afoul of draconian state laws.
This essay is urgent and necessary and makes me so sad. Our students and teachers deserve better. #trans #LGBTQ #news
