Question for the community!
I'm helping a Toronto council candidate's campaign this year. We were planning to use Mastodon if we could to help with our web presence and we'll need to find a server.
I was wondering if CoSocial would allow this. And if so, I'm guessing it would require a financial contribution like regular membership does?
Worth mentioning of course we wouldn't be participating in behavior like tagging people in an unsolicited manner.

I recently discovered a set of geocoder RESTful APIs by the City of Toronto.
They are free, no authentication needed, but also not documented anywhere.
Until now!

Prompt: When was the first time you felt like Toronto was home?
Many firsts, each with a different definition of Toronto.
- First best friend in elementary school.
- First time I came back as an adult to experience the city. Never really ever went down town until then.
- Every time I moved back to the city and fall in love with this place again.
- Moving downtown and experiencing the real vibe of a walkable neighbourhood and accessible transit.
- Working on a municipal campaign to understand the full size and scale of this city (and all of its complexities and needs)
- Every time I make a new friend fall in love with this place too.
This is my home. I like Toronto.

La meva #CançóDelDia per al dimecres 24 de desembre és aquesta de les #Tulip #Toronto #MètalSimfònic ♊!
The mixed blessing of living on Queen Street: it's lively, and good transit with frequent streetcars.
But tonight there are people in hardhats out there, grinding the rails, throwing sparks. At midnight. Again. #noisy #toronto 🤷♀️
Edit: oh good … now there's a jackhammer.
23:59PM on a Friday night.
Speaker announcement! I'm so hyped for all our speakers and our product conference on May 28 in Toronto! These are a lot of my favourite product people!
John Cutler ( @johncutlefish ), April Dunford, and Radhika Dutt are my absolute favourite product thinkers and I want everyone to hear more from them.

I’m selling my dining set. It’s a gorgeous solid acacia wood dining set with live edges. Table is 2m long and table alone weighs 250lb. Set includes benches.
Reason is we’re moving to a place where I don’t have room for it, and I am very sad.
I’m asking 600 CAD, pickup only. It’s really a great price for what it is. I hope the set finds a good home as I love it very much.

"Line is a restrained triumph. Its stations + stops share a coherent language: large windows + skylights, white-painted steel, expanses of white tile, tangerine accents."
From #Toronto, generally good reviews of design, operations of Eglinton Crosstown LRT.

Did you know that the Toronto Zoo used to run a monorail (ish)?
The 5.6km transit system closed down in 1994. However the concrete structure that supported the rail is still around in the middle of the forest near Scarborough/Rouge Park.
I knew it was reachable because of an old reddit post and also because we can see it from Google Maps.
But I didn't know "how" to get there. So with a few friends we decided to find out

Hopefully this will be a timeline cleanser for some today. Just got back from the Toronto International Jazz Festival. Took a chance and went to what ended up being a sold out concert of this artist: Afrooj Aftab. It was a delightful event. What a great voice. The link below is to her Tiny Desk performance on NPR. Enjoy. Direct link: https://youtu.be/ZUYJ8_tBSSQ
