My week on crutches was partly spent looking desperately out the windows at the tasks I was supposed to do before winter. Not exactly creative or productive. Oh well, the garden can wait. And the tea is good.

With the recent #Tea app breach, one of them was an unsecured Firebase bucket where photos where stored for verification
So bascially everyone could read/write to the bucket aka download the images
Also, the EXIF data was still included on these photos to make it even worse
~13 000 images till 2024
The second bug gave users access tp an API key that could request any data from the database
It's bad
This is pretty bad
So there's this #TeaApp for #women only to share the "#tea," gossip, on men they have dated or might date
They verify the govt #ID or other images of its users to get in
Tiny problem:
The galaxy brain #vibe coders (#app made by #AI?) put the images of all these women in a #Firebase *public bucket*

Thousands of images, including govt IDs, were downloaded, some posted on #4chan
Lawsuits in 3... 2... 1...
