An austere-looking Stratford City Hall in the depths of winter, the red and white Maple Leaf flying high in a freezing gale serving up snow squalls off Lake Huron. The snow covered steps open fanlike before us to a dark arched portico, the red brick and St. Mary’s limestone foundation and the Picturesque design of the building lending it somewhat the appearance of a dour, bewigged magistrate leaning over the bench to peer at a miscreant.
