Happy #StarWarsDay! My own favorite personal anecdote: I saw Star Wars with poet Allen Ginsberg when it first opened in Boulder in 1977. When the crawl went up the screen ("A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away..."), Allen sighed, "Thank God - I don't have to worry about it!"

Happy Star Wars Day!
You might not know this, but I'm a wookiepedia... Star Wars Galaxies was my first MMORPG and my favorite game as a kid/teen. I played it for a few years until Sony shut it down. Ever since then, I've continued my SW obsession and now I hold too much power to be stopped.
I can't relive the days of SWG, unfortunately, but I can share with you some Star Wars fanart I have made in the past.

On #StarWarsDay pause to remember Grant Imahara- Engineer, Lucasfilm ILM model maker, Baby Yoda designer, R2D2 tech and puppeteer, Mythbuster and really lovely person. Grant passed away in July 2020 of a brain aneurysm.
In his lifetime, Grant mentored high school students in robotics and associated fields. The Grant Imahara STEAM foundation continues his legacy by providing grants for education. https://www.grantimaharafoundation.org/
I’ll just take this moment to point out that while Sunday is #StarWarsDay, it is also the 55th anniversary of the moment at Kent State when National Guardsmen opened fire using live ammunition on peacefully protesting students, killing four and wounding others.
For me, this is where things began the slide downward. When the Armed Forces shoot their fellow citizens, anything becomes possible, and there is no turning back.
Thus, we are here.
Protest safely, America.
