a small, beige motth with extended wings lies atop ice in an backyard pool. their wings are dotted with raindrops. algae and rotted leaves make the ice appear emerald green and black with uncountable tiny bubbles.

Note: I took this picture in the early afternoon. the day was sunny and windy, and the moth was not there when I returned in late afternoon to photograph it in different light. I'd like to believe the moth flew away.

A complex tangle of flowering prickly pear cacti and succulent plants set against the pale yellow siding of a San Francisco home.
