We stand in full solidarity with countries battling wildfires.
In the past week, Spain, Greece, Bulgaria, Montenegro and Albania activated the #EUCivilProtection Mechanism.
Spain did so for the first time ever for forest fires, mobilising 2 #rescEU planes stationed in France.
🚒🚁Prepositioned firefighters and aerial assets from multiple EU countries are helping contain the flames across Europe.
From ground crews to aerial support, we are protecting Europe, together.
We stand as one against wildfires.
Greece has activated the #EUCivilProtection Mechanism to fight the ongoing wildfires in Attica.
Our response has already mobilised:
✈️ 2 planes and 2 helicopters from the #rescEU fleet
🧑🚒 8 firefighting teams with vehicles, 4 from 🇫🇷 and one each from 🇨🇿 🇷🇴 🇮🇹 🇷🇸
This is #EUsolidarity in action.
