Right now you may be like "what a calm and peaceful timeline this is"… but NO, BANG! here comes another one of those lengthy and disruptive…
RADiO IRRTUM!
…announcements. And I'm not even sorry — damn me!
↓↓↓ German version far below the English one ↓↓↓
Yes, yes, #RadioIrrtum! is knocking at your radio frame, specifically at Saturday, 2024-08-31 at 8:00PM (UTC+2) at Alex Berlin/FM 91 MHz/DAB+ Ch.7D, or via stream: https://www.alex-berlin.de/radio/15-live-auf-91.0
Why? What?! #Radio Irrtum! is a German language #radioShow exploring the sonic vastnesses of the #underground. But wait… in German?! Well - forget about that German language aspect - it's all about the music!
»But it's exactly at the time when me and my family are peeling potatoes for dinner!« you say? Perfect! Because this time we are dealing with
Peel Sessions
only. If you really have no idea about Peel sessions — it will be explained ;).
Anyhow; that means we have a special with the following acts:
- Foyer des Arts
- Tarwater
- The Future Sound of London
- The Human League
- Einstürzende Neubauten
- Malaria
- Chicks on Speed
- PIL
- Bauhaus
- The Fall
- Broadcast
- Nico
That's 50% of German acts — hope that won't spoil the phun too much ;) - and we'll cover no less than 32 years of #PeelSessions.
And there are 2 apologies: I will mention Mania D at one point but I will pronounce their name completely wrong because all the years I was reading & therefore saying "Manina D". Realized it far too late, the show is uploaded already… nothing I can do now. I feel ashamed!
Also 1 hour is by faaaar too short for this topic, I had to cut down too much for this show; don't recommend anyone trying that. 2 hours should be minimum by law when covering this topic. Yes, I'm a criminal.
I'll post playlist + manuscript later here (provided I’m home, else it will come up the day after). And if you have questions? I'll gladly answer! Just ask!
CU all on Saturday! :)
↑↑↑ English version above, the German one is still below ↓↓↓
Oh nein, da kommt es, das Zeychenlimit, daher nur ganz kurz auf deutsch:
Radio Irrtum! kommt. Diesen Samstag, 20 Uhr über Alex Berlin auf UKW 91MHz/DAB+ K.7D (Stream URL oben).
Da ist keine Zeit mehr fürs Kartoffelschälen, denn diesmal gibz echte Peel Sessions (Special!) — nämlich mit:
- Foyer des Arts
- Tarwater
- The Future Sound of London
- The Human League
- Einstürzende Neubauten
- Malaria
- Chicks on Speed
- PIL
- Bauhaus
- The Fall
- Broadcast
- Nico

It maybe an unpleasant November out there - but what about some warm coziness from the inside?
I know something that may spark all that:
RADIO IRRTUM!
(on air from Berlin)
↓↓↓ Deutsch Version below unten ↓↓↓
Da next issue of #RadioIrrtum! will air this Saturday, 2025/11/22, 8:00pm UTC+1, Berlin time. At Alex Berlin FM at 91MHz / DAB+ K7D around #Berlin + worldwide at https://www.alex-berlin.de/radio-livestream .
Wuzit then?
#Radio Irrtum! is a German language #radioShow exploring the sonic vastness of the #underground. Emitted transmissions may raise attention for new unheard #music all over this planet's genre spectrum. Don't worry about that #GermanLanguage - it's all about the #music!
A lot of it - this time with a bit of focus on Spoken Words!
Covering stuff like
- lightweight musical poems
- voice heavy #organPoint Pop
- dreamy Bulgarian #Triphop
- a #Fediverse dream cooperation of #Bonkwave artists doing classic #DnB
- playful #indietronic
- #140 #Bass full of dancy-pancy energy
- #IBM (the term Radio-Irrtum! uses for Intellectual Bass Music) including Spoken Words
- Experimental #SpokenWords
- less #experimental SpokenWords
- dark Riot Grrrl #Postpunk
- dreamy #Downtempo #Lofi for making you smile
Lots of #CreativeCommons music is included and there are super cool artists from the Fediverse. Like @axwax + @ahihi + @animaexanimata + @poemproducer . Lots of strong women in music too. Lots wont be found on Spotify while it's all here!
Also (mostly for the German listeners I'm afraid) I will explain the organ point composition technique which is featured even in modern music (and without an organ if you are lucky).
And I will merge Johann Sebastian Bach's name into "Johannes Bach" by misstake at one point. I honestly know better! I can say this because the show is preproduced (and still I didn't catch this before uploading it to the radio station; this is bad!).
Anyway: If at least a bit interested in kewl new unusual #music, tune in! 📻
Got questions? I'll gladly answer! Just ask here!
Playlist + manuscript after the show also here.
CU all (?) on Saturday.

Settle back in that comfy chair, get pumped up to the ceiling, and enjoy two hours of #ThePlaylist while getting your hair did, for the theme this week is:
Haaair
We thought about just playing the original Broadway cast recording of the musical ‘Hair’, but instead decided to once again take suggestions from the Eternal Angies out there, who stepped up and suggested another raft of utter bangers.

Put on your dancin' shoes, and behold as #ThePlaylist sashays over to you and throws you about in the most extraordinary rumba, for the theme this week is:
We’re in the mood for dancing
Many folks are heading out to christmas parties, where they’ll be cutting the rug with reckless abandon, so we’re taking the opportunity to celebrate all things dance. So two hours of dance floor fillers, and well, dancefloor emptiers, if we’re honest. But two hours of stone-cold bangers nonetheless.

Look no further (also because this is more like a full blown blog article than a short announcement)...
as there is:
RADIO IRRTUM! Special: Spoken Words in Music
(on air from Berlin)
↓↓↓ This is the English language announcement ↓↓↓
Da next issue of #RadioIrrtum! will air this Saturday, 2025/12/20, 8:00pm UTC+1, Berlin time. At Alex Berlin FM at 91MHz / DAB+ K7D around #Berlin + worldwide at https://www.alex-berlin.de/radio-livestream .
Last time on FM air waves, as civic stations in Germany are banned from using "UKW" starting 2026. Because everyone has nice sustainable DAB+ radio receivers nowadays. Right? RIGHT??
#Radio Irrtum! usually is a German language #radioShow exploring the sonic vastness of the #underground. Emitted transmissions may raise attention for new unheard #music all over this planet's genre spectrum. Don't worry about that #GermanLanguage - it's all about the #music!
But this time it's different! It will be a Special. About Spoken Words in music. That is, because I think Xmas - among other things - should also be about listening. To each other. To stories. Or like in this case to stories told within a musical construct.
While doing my research for this, something became quite apparent: #SpokenWords in music, beside it's powerful materializations in various genres, doesn't seem to be much of a topic in music science or music journalism – despite the lasting emotional impact that all the better pieces of Spoken Words music are able to inflict.
I.e. I couldn't find a simple historical timeline here. What are the roots? I have only one hour, so I cannot provide any deep dive, just a simplified overview. The time line of this show will range from 1966 until 2025, spoken words, 40% in German language, 60% English language.
Even if you d don't speek German: This combination of words and music will give you a sense about what's going on. This may be the only "genre" in music that will carry the emotions of the words over into your soul.
Covering music styles like
- #WordJazz from 1966
- #GermanRap from 2025
- UK #RetroAcid from the 2010ths
- #ExperimentalPop from the 80s + 90s
- 80s #IndustrialMusic
- #EastGerman Cassette-Underground
- UK Trash #ElektroPunk from the 2010ths
- German Experimental #EasyListening from the 2000s
Some of this couldn't be found on Spotify, despite being all iconic tracks. And most of those tracks happen to be my absolute all time favorits btw.
Consider this a little acoustic Xmas gift :)
If at least a bit interested in kewl unusual #music, tune in! 📻
