Discord is once again, for the 8th or more time this year, updating their privacy policy, and terms of services.

I DELETED my account today.

Goodbye, Discord.

The email reads:

Hey Linux Is Best,

We have received a (dare we say, terrifying) request to permanently delete your account. Your account has been deactivated and will be permanently deleted after 14 days.

Just in case you change your mind (or were a bit too curious with pushing buttons), or did not request to permanently delete your account, please login to Discord to cancel this request.

Important note for Apple iOS subscriptions: if you have an active subscription that was purchased on an Apple device, you must cancel this subscription directly in your Apple device settings or with Apple support. Discord is unable to cancel iOS-originated subscriptions on behalf of users. More information on how to cancel Apple subscriptions can be found here. Any active Discord subscriptions purchased with credit card, PayPal, or via an Android device will not renew after today.

The email reads:

These updates will support our evolving business, address changes in laws, and provide additional clarity about what we expect from you and what you can expect from us as you use our services.

These changes will take effect on September 29, 2025. Use of our services from that date will be subject to the updated policies.

We encourage you to review the updated documents in full. We've also summarized important changes in our article here. If you disagree with any of the policies, you may terminate your agreement with us at any time by discontinuing use of our services and deleting your Discord account.
