#Photography tip: Take some shots with your phone when it’s unreasonably dark. You might get a pleasant surprise.

(OK this picture is a bit of a lie; the Pixel 10’s take looked way brighter than what I remembered seeing, and then I cranked it up a bit more in Lightroom.)

Fruit-tree flowers against a cloudy dusk sky with a star showing. The blossoms would be white or pink in daylight, they look somewhere in the pink-to-brown range by this light (but still attractive).

I shot a very well attended 4th of July Parade in Monterey, CA. I have some fun shots from the parade, but the ones I'm most pleased by are these face in the crowd shots I was able to get after the parade ended.

Every time I'm in a crowd, I try to get shots like this, but it's always hit or miss... mostly miss. This time, I got exceedingly lucky and very noticeable faces kept appearing out of the sea of humanity over and over again for me.

One of my busiest time of the year is about to start with the return of the salmon. That annual event attracts a lot of wildlife such as black bears and a keen interest from amateur and pro wildlife photographers.
Don't worry if I don't post every day, nothing bad has happened, I will simply spend a lot of time in the field with guests. Long days ahead. I still have some availability for private tours in September if you're interested.
