What the #Philippines needs to learn.

If you visit the #Philippines and wonder why despite the extreme heat there're no Heatwave warnings, it's because we are a tropical archipelagic country.
It means that there is no heatwave in the Philippines as far as the scientific definition and calculation are concerned.
You should instead
Google: Severe heat in the #Philippines until Friday, 40℃.
Me: That's normal heat.

Thanks to @atradio.fm@bsky.brid.gy , I'm back to listening via online radios. I stopped ten or so years ago because services like TuneIn, Live365, etc., became unrealiable for #Philippines coverage.
With atradio.fm, I can save the official stream URLs and it's stored where I can listen easily.

Things Westerners get confused when visiting the #Philippines:
- KKK: was a decentralized revolutionary organization in Luzon against Spanish occupation, funded secretly by pre-Colonial Royal Class/Clans, Chinese, and some Spanish.
- MILF: a Moro organization who fought for their Rights.
Here in the #Philippines, using someone's likeness in AI is considered a #Privacy violation under the Data Privacy Act. Yes, we can sue unathorized use of our likeness and we can go after you even if you're in another country*. ᕦ(ಠ_ಠ)ᕤ
* There's an inter country process for crossborder cases.
Here in the #Philippines, there is a growing "trend(?)" amongst families with #Autistic daughters: Creating a Facebook Page and sharing their autistic lives.
We all know for years that autism discussion and research is mainly dominatid by [white] autistic boys and men. Filipinos are changing this.
For the first time in the history of the #Philippines, an agency is finally going to do something against drivers not caring about Pedestrian Crossings: the LTO (Land Transportation Office); not the PNP (Philippine National Police), not the MMDA, not LGUs.
Permanent suspension of license! 🎉🥳
They'll survive and fit right in the #Philippines where the majority of us Filipinos ignore DMs or leave it "seen". It's so common even for neurotypicals that "seen" achieved cultural joke status. 😉
I want to audition for the new season of Pinoy Big Brother, but it's only open for ages 18–35. I'm only 17. 🤪

An important thing that's happening in the #Philippines right now: The government, and more than half of elected and appointed officials, are preparing for a new law requiring ALL online services to:
👉🏽 Open a physical office in the country, with a representative and so on.
Otherwise, they'll be
The Western vs #Philippines #Autism public landscape:
1. PH: L2 and L3 women/girls; West: L1 women and men
2. PH: Families, especially mothers, video documents and share online their L2/L3 autistic daughters, at home and publicly (like malls).
In the West: they call it "exploitation".
Our town repeat announcements 3x a day, 7 days a week, most are deaf to it already. 🤦🏽🤷🏽

Hah! There's a free #ISNI registration in the #Philippines right now for creatives. Yes! I can finally get one. 🤸🏽♀️
How Alex Eala Became a Symbol of the Philippines
At only 21, the tennis phenom Alex Eala is likely already the best-ever player from Southeast Asia. Now she is seeking her first Grand Slam title at this summer’s U.S. Open.

Age verification comes to the #Philippines. First platforms: Meta and Roblox.
I wonder when it will affect Bluesky. @bsky.app and @safety.bsky.app@bsky.brid.gy should probably prepare and set up @moderation.bsky.app@bsky.brid.gy for the Philippines.
The #Philippines revealing early its entry for #EurovisionAsia just turned @eurovisionasia.bsky.social@bsky.brid.gy into a highly intense and very serious competition.
The holdouts like #Japan #Kazakhstan should stop having second thoughts. This new song competition is clearly going so be huge.
It's funny that this Wikipedia article lacks information about the #Philippines. 😅
Around 2000, every new building and elevator installations skip 4 to accomodate CJK tourists and potential tenants. You'll even see it when it's still under construction, no 4th floor.
I still remember some

I don't observe #Christmas but Merry Christmas #Philippines !
September 1st always mark the beginning of Christmas for the #Filipino people.
The #Philippines just skyrocketed #EurovisionAsia as no ordinary broadcasting and singing competition. The "wait-and-see" countries like #NewZealand #India #Japan #Australia must be regretting their decision not to join.
#Bhutan 's entry is not to be dismissed! New at global stage but a force!
