phanpy
I really love the catch-up feature on @phanpy. When I don't have time to scroll through my timeline on the Fediverse, I can simply see the most shared, liked, and commented-on posts from the networks *I decided to follow*. I know I'll still miss some good posts, but that's how I discover good ones I missed.
We can select the time range we want to catch up on. 1/2
After the disruption from the nightly build on Monday, I began experimenting with both @phanpy and @elk, alternate Web interfaces for Mastodon.
While #Elk is quite nice with always-available mouse-based back navigation, it doesn't seem to support either multi-column views or auto-refreshing timelines.
So, #Phanpy is a much better fit for my use case. However, it suffers the same limitation sorting notifications as the current unfixed nightly build, i.e. no quick-access filter bar.

If anyone has a problem logging into phanpy.hear-me.social, or maybe any other Phanpy instance, clear the cookies for the site. Two of us had difficulty logging in (myself and one other) and this resolved the issue.
I'm working on a new post for #TheFutureIsFederated that aims to show what interoperability looks like on the #Fediverse.
As I said before, it feels like ✨ magic ✨
I logged in @phanpy for the first time using my @pixelfed credentials and I used its incredible catch-up feature to see posts I had missed. Mind = blown 🤯 😍
Blog post coming by the end of the week, in the meantime you can read previous issues and subscribe here: https://blog.elenarossini.com/tag/fediverse/#post-list
Hi @cheeaun - wondering if #Giphy integration into #Phanpy is still something you are considering? Know there are ways like how Signal did this to be privacy preserving.... https://signal.org/blog/giphy-experiment/
Here is my periodic posting that #phanpy is just an amazing UX. One of the best social user interfaces of any social platform. A joy to use and keeps improving. cc @cheeaun
Hm.. The trending page on the dev instance of #phanpy isn't updating anymore. At least for a couple of days already. The official mastodon client doesn't seem to have that issue. Someone else?
#Hollo finally has #Misskey/#Threads-style quotes! It's easy to use. Just paste the link to the post you want to quote into your post! It will automatically recognize a link to an ActivityPub post (supports Article, Note, and Question) and turn it into a quote.
FYI, if you're using #Phanpy, you can use the Quote button that appears when you press the boost icon!

🚀 The Future is Federated - issue no.12 👩🚀
"Beyond technical features: why we need to talk about the values of the Fediverse (part 2)"

Finally broke looking at the new #Mastodon interface and decided to try #Phanpy, but it's even more bloated.
Fired up my old #Sengi desktop client but it looks like the code is no longer maintained and the version I have doesn't work any more.
Didn't there used to be other popular web interfaces you could use to connect to your Mastodon account (on any instance)?
I didn't know #Phanpy has an algo... I mean a special feed to find stuff you may have missed while not online. It's called Catch-up.

Nice!
Really nice touch for alt text on Phanpy. As your mouse hovers over an image, the corresponding alt text is highlighted below.
#Phanpy #phanpysocialdev https://mastodon.social/@cheeaun Hello, can you tell me please how i can exclude all boosted toots/posts from my Home/Follows timeline? The Mastodon UI has a simple, single, toggle for this, but so far i've not deduced how to do it globally with the Phanpy UI [until a better option arises, i need to tediously manually suppress boosts individual by individual]?
Phanpy and GoToSocial is a killer combination.
GoToSocial has some great privacy controls, but has no front end by default. https://gotosocial.org
Phanpy, the alternative Mastodon web client, looks really sleek. https://phanpy.social
And it seems pretty easy to run them side by side.
I think Phanpy probably has the best UX/UI when it comes to image posting, it's simple, everything is at your fingertips without having to click fifteen times everywhere.
