The latest #Pachli Current now remembers your reading position on the Local and Federated timelines.

If you're on a busy server and reopening them after some time you can use the "Load newest posts" menu option to jump to the top (or change the settings to make that the behaviour when tapping a tab).

Two quote-related changes in yesterday's #Pachli Current.

1. In a post with a content warning that quotes another, the quoted post is hidden until you click through the content warning.

2. If your server is running Mastodon 4.4.5 or above you can how search for posts that quote other posts. When searching, open the search filters, and the second row has a new "chip" allow you to choose whether to show or hide posts with quotes.

It's been a rainy day in Zurich, so I had a free hour to prototype some changes to how media is attached to posts in #Pachli.

What do we think?

Screenshot showing a possible new UI when adding media in Pachli.

Instead of hiding the description behind two taps and a dialog the media's description is shown in-line in the post editor.

In this example two images are attached. The first has a description filled in. The second has no description, and shows a warning message and icon under the area where the description can be entered.

#Pachli Current is rolling out the new media description UI for feedback.

Since the last screenshot some of the padding has been tightened up and the colours toned down a little. The image size adjusts to the device size to leave enough room for writing the caption.

Also, some servers report the actual max number of characters you can put in the description. If it's available that's now used, instead of being fixed to 1,500.

Feedback (after you've tried it in Pachli Current) welcomed.
