I'm looking for a term or phrase that describes the always advancing encroachment of for-profit 'data-analytics' (aka surveillance) companies on the scientific community.

I'm thinking about "surveillance publishing" (Elsevier being the prime example), but also the business models of Clarivate and platforms like academia.edu & ResearchGate:
Where researchers communicate, what tools they use, etc
