Artist: Bridge City Sinners (Libby Lux, she/they)
Why? Mix country and metal vocals, add in bluegrass and folk instrumentation, and run wild with goth, emo, and psychobilly themes. This is the unique magic that is Bridge City Sinners.
Where to start?
One of my favorite songs and just a gorgeous music video is "Devil Like You." It tells a campfire scary story like a folk song, while also bringing in themes of the dangers of heteronormativity and more.

Their latest album centers themes of living with mental illness, decentering neurotypical norms. Many of these songs highlight the possibilities of this distinct musical creativity too. "Doubt" speaks to my disordered heart while being a tour of the breadth of their talent.

"Crazy" is another one of these, it's both fun and affirms "maybe it's okay" we'll never be okay.
