Hawkwind were in town early in August, touring for their new album 'There Is No Space For Us'. Something must have crept into the old subconcious, before realising what was happening, the space theme had emerged over the next week or so ~ and cracking songs they all are too, I hope you enjoy SS75

couldn't resist the picture of our cover stars this month ~ The Liverbirds were a Liverpudlian 'Merseybeat' band in the 1960s, signed to Star Club Records they followed The Beatles as resident band at the Star Club in Hamburg

in 1990, i was in a record store and they were playing a marching band, #SantaClaraVanguard performing #PhantomOfTheOpera, recorded live from a football field

being neither a fan of marching bands, nor broadway musicals, i was nonetheless enthralled, asked if it was for sale, alas it was not

not long after i searched online and found their website with a note about the CD i was looking for, but I never actually found a copy

maybe 10-15 years ago, i did another online search, and came up empty

on a whim, i just now looked again and found the recording on SoundCloud, yay for me

but get this, a few weeks ago i deleted my SC account!

so just rejoined long enough to grab this 12 minute track and i'm gonna put it in my #soulseek public folder

musically, it's not as exciting or interesting as i thought it was back then, but i'm quite pleased with my perseverance in tracking this down

maybe i'll use it as source material for a #noise opera...

this is the internet i remember, and love
