I just read this article about chess-like vs poker-like problems, and how poker-like problems are bad candidates for solution with LLM type models.

I'm looking for more reading like this about the underlying architecture, behavior, and future directions of the models and the cutting edge research around them. Does anyone have links they found valuable?

https://www.latent.space/p/adversarial-reasoning

#noai #aicritic #ai #llm

In an email from Storyblocks today titled "Two new ways to create faster," you can probably guess what they're selling. The slop maker of course.

"We’ve launched two new ways to help you find exactly what you need, faster.

Artist Voices bring distinctive, human-inspired AI narration into AI Voiceover, giving you more expressive voice options trained on real professional artists...

And with Search by Sound, you can upload any audio reference to instantly discover similar music and SFX - matched by tone, style, and pacing."

Artist voices inspired by humans. I want to gag reading this. This is one of the most egregious misuses of the technology.

And how much does replacing yourself with slop cost? Only about $252 per year, which is a discounted rate for paying annually, to start with a few "credits" per month. They'll happily charge you for higher tiers, like their "Small Business" license which is about $480 per year.

I once considered using Storyblocks because of their stock media but quickly discovered the "AI Toolkit." No artist or creator should ever use this service. Be wary of anyone who takes them as a sponsor as well. This represents everything in the #enshittification of everything.

#NoAI

#Storyblocks #AISlop #HumanArt #DigitalSovereignty #YouTube #Creator #VideoEditing #PostProduction #VoiceOver #VoiceActing

Does anyone have any links, podcasts, video, especially writing on deeply examining #AI/LLMs in spaces where the people are both working for the pleasure of it, and not coerced into productivity? Like, as an example, I’m in the FanFiction community a lot. Yes, of course there are people that will happily generate #AISlop in those/these spaces, but it seems to never be willingly promoted by readers. If it is promoted, it’s purely accidental and or the output was so heavily edited that it transformed into human writing again. This could be purely personal experience but in my case, I find that it really is not a big thing in those spaces. In short, everyone gives it the middle finger by not even acknowledging its existence in those spaces. Not a head in the sand kind of way but just a collective discussing great work instead. The AI evangelist seem to be very bored of these kinds of spaces and I’m trying to figure out if it’s personal experience or not #NoAI #LLM #AntiAI

Asking again but Does anyone have any links, podcasts, video, especially writing on deeply examining #AI/LLMs in purely enjoyment, non productivity spaces? Spaces that are less about productivity and more about just appreciating the art and the craft along with the artist? Like, as an example, I’m in the fan fiction community a lot. Looks like governor Janet Mills vetoed the Maine data center moratorium that recently passed the Maine legislature. Extremely disappointing, and out of step with what's increasingly looking like a winning electoral strategy. Very few people want data centers. They destroy neighborhoods, don't create good jobs, and don't bring wealth into a community. They raise electricity rates 50-100%, possibly more in the long term.

https://www.bangordailynews.com/2026/04/24/politics/janet-mills-vetoes-maine-data-center-ban/

#Maine #DataCenters #NoAI
